Skype Free and Universal
Skype is offering VOIP calling to all Canadian and US calls.
Al Gore-Human, and very close to my views on a great many things.
Perhaps a few years too late:
Via FifthandMain.com
This plus the growing coverage of Gore as a decent citizen of the world (Wired), something like a Jimmy Carter. But without the whole having been a president thing.
Too late to consider the differences had the election been different, that path will just grind you down into nothing, but look at Gore as an example for perhaps what you can be. Sure, you don’t wield the power that comes with Presidency, but you still have influence and you still ultimately need to take charge of your self.
Note, this may be the last time I use a Politics tag. Never polite or productive to talk politics, at least it seems. Talks processes, talk ideas, let politics good.
Idea-Commune Space.
The church I go to is merging with another Church, which all fine and dandy, however most our programs are in suspension for now. Post merger the these aspects I most liked about Doxa, may be toast.
Which is unfortunate, but sometimes you need to break some eggs to make an omlette.
Gone (most likely) will be the artist programs, for example. Let me say the plan is to use the space previous set aside for Arting it up, and use it instead for kids. That is hard to argue with.
But it leaves me thinking, we had started to make some way in the artist community. So, we need to find an alternate means to filling that need and continuing that ministry. Solution, go buy our own space. In theory, we could get 15-20 folks and buy a space, setup shop as a non-profit co-op and get bizzay with the community.
This appeals both to my love of control and decentralized, federated community groups.
There will be more on this shortly.
Speachless
I have nothing, nothing to say.
iPod City Quides

These seem pretty cool, at least in theory. You can download a CityGuide” and then impress your friends by accessing a list of events (synched to the calendar), restaurants, and nightlife. VIA:TUAW
The thing is, there aren’t that many things listed on it. Hotels, yeah there are a fair bit with decent write ups. The restaurant section is pretty slim though.
This reminds of the much better Seattle Weekly Dining Guide That thing is pretty great, listing by neighborhood, Cuisine, and cost.
I would like to see a community driven version, where we update our own info. Also, maps would be good too….you could cross reference a map shot to help those with less than stellar directional skills.
Works in Progress
Lot of things up in the air right now:
- Figure out where to live
- Move to that Place
- Turn 26 (May 10th)
- Dominate New Job
- Fine Tune GPSHEC Site
- ETC
Sure there are more things out there too, but I don’t want to put too much down. It gets scary that way.
Here is something to send you on your way, via Answering Genesis
Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib? Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?’
Oh Wordpress, how I love thee
Migration Complete.
A few things along the way, new domain name (exportryan.com will find a place soon, where? I don’t know…but it will).
I am working on getting the old Livejournal posts here too, we’ll see.
Also, added lightbox functionality.
