Other stuff I am doing…as of right now

Well literally all I am doing now is drinking tea, but you get the idea.

I am blogging elsewhere’s alphacast, D.U.T.C.H., CHILL

As well as podcasting:
Bible bit by bit and Brilliant or Simply Genius (although I admit that one is lame).

Also, I am currently perfecting my rock hard abs, which really is a life long passion for me.

More on the specifics of these later.

Apple Laptops and Stuff

I am rebuilding the OS on Kate’s beloved lappy. It had gone all wonky on us, Safari shutting down randomly, mail going paws up, kittens sleeping with puppies. Basically, the end of the laptop world.

So after backing up all her various datas (on my sweet new external drive, named Carl) I went through Apples straight forward reinstall. Which is all fine and dandy, but I still can’t pinpoint what broke.

Sure, easy to fix, but why did it break in the first place? Looking at the Apple Support Site (which is really good) it seems that this has been happening to at least some other people too. Not cool.

Now that I am this far into the post, I have no idea what my point was. Apple stuff pretty, support good, follow up on bugs….who can tell. Windows has these problems too I guess, maybe more even…who knows.

Also, I am going nuts for some new Apple Hardware and Leopard.

So, looking at the back on the might (old) iMac I was shocked by the cable clutter. No good.

Next on my wish list:

Telecommuter Tax Benefits for Employers

I am all over this bill.

A vastly simplified flat rate home office deduction ($2500 or the profit from your home-based business, whichever is lower), replacing the current complex prorated system that requires exclusive use of part of the home.
A telecommuting tax credit that gives employers up to $2400 credit for each employee who starts telecommuting during the year.
An exclusion from employee income of employer-provided telecommuting equipment including computers and broadband access equipment, making such equipment a tax-free fringe benefit.
