Cuisine Cruising Capitol Hill (Ali Baba)

New all time favorite place to get a good, reasonably priced, bite on the Hill.

Ali Baba Enterprises (heretofore to be called ABE) offers Mediterranean grub. But dang if it isn’t good stuff. We knocked off a chicken gyro and some falafel. The owner brought out some sweet tea, sage I think, that hit the spot.

ABE comes in a fair bit cheaper than the other Mediterranean offerings on the hill, is open earlier in the day during the week, and is right on par in terms of tastiness.
Also, any restaurant with “enterprises” in the name is pretty great.

Exploring Education Endeavors

I have an Undergraduate in Business Management from the University of Phoenix*. Learned a lot from the program, developed some great skills, and even made some friends.

Here’s the kicker, I mostly have a degree. Sitting 9.37 credits (something lime 3 1/3 classes) from completion is embarrassing, and I need to remedy that pronto. There are a few options of how to do this.

Shouldn’t be that hard or costly to wrap this up.

What next then?

  • MBA (most likely at University of Phoenix, I like the program there)
  • Ruby on Rails Cert course at UW extension campus
  • Stay home, have a beer

Time will tell I suppose.
Disclaimer: I work for the University of Phoenix. Decided to attend almost four years ago, got a job there to cover the cost. Got promoted a few times, finished the degree, stuck around. Now I help other folks go to school. Any comments I make in regard to the University of Phoenix are my own, and in no way sanctioned by the University.

Playing Past Prejudice on Comments

In the past, I got insane comments. Crazy dialogue on my posts. Regrettably, it mostly centered around Cialis and Viagra, apparently an endless number of previous classmates and admirers, and even the occasional Nigerian Prince in need of help.

So, hey, tweaked the setting a tad, killed trackbacks, and nuke my 3514 pending comments. Let’s try this again. Downloaded, installed, and activated the Akismet plugin. Hoping that helps.

Remember, kids. Login to post a comment, create an account if needed.

Multi-Modal Martial arts

iChat facilitates the sharing of skills. Like lock-pick skills, bow-staff skills, and ultimately Nunchaku skills.
Behold, Devin’s blurry Numchak-ery.
Sure, I would love to get a better shot. Unfortunately the raw speed of the Numchaking prevents that.
Shame.

Theme Theft? Think Again

I am not designer. Far from it actually, but I like good design. As such, I am working on using Derek Punsalan template. Many thanks for his kindness in providing this puppy.

Bear with as template is tweaked and modifided for use here.

Oh hey, here is proof I am not designer. In an attempt to win some kind of creative acclaim, I submited this to an art contest at the Pacific Science Center…for age 8 and under. I didn’t even get an honorable mention. Would have hoped my 19 years on this little snots would have put me at an advantage.

Hartley’s Hone Home Computer

Redkev and Jo are now equipped with the latest in Mac Lappy technology. A quick trip to the Apple Store, some joyful unpacking, and some painful data migration from the old beleaguered PC, and they on the path to Mac-ery.

Ministry of Mac Migration

Sitting at coffee this morning at Bauhaus showing a little some Mac Fu to Devin. Redkev concurrently contacts me saying his old windows lappy is nearly dead and that he wants me to take him the Apple Store today to look at a replacement.

Could 3-way iChat be long coming? Me thinks perhaps.

Flattery (kind of)

Remember that warm feeling you got as kid, when you folks left you alone by yourself while they went and did errands?

Well, think of my hiatus from this blog as just that.

Back for now…
