The new lappy is more than just my best friend, it is great little productivity machine.  It’s keys are scissor up and down and make typing a joy.  I use a work provided HP 6700 for everything I get paid for and I beautiful fingers mark each key-stroke with sigh for my other computer.  Not saying that the HP is terrible, it just isn’t great.

The only downside of the laptop setup is that occasionally, I want to get busy and work at a real desk with the screen a comfortable ways away.  To do so I was plugging in my aging Apple Pro Keyboard.  However, that thing is getting to a point where keys aren’t as lively as they once were.  I decide to use my Birthday cash from my beloved In-Laws to fix this situation.

Hence, my new Apple keyboard It is such a joy to type on I find myself wanting to work at the desk instead of my giant easy chair.  The thing is beautiful too, I never thought I would actually dig the look of a keyboard, but thing is a beauty.

Thinking my wife digs having me out of her hair and in my office too.  So win-win.

Got the new laptop today. Initial response is that I am pretty impressed. The part that grabbed me first was the opening welcome movie, which was pretty striking (My God, it’s full of stars!). I opted for the higher resolution screen, which makes this puppy as nice little HD machine.

To better test this I loaded up the HD 1080 version of WALL.E HD trailer on the iMac G5 and the new MBP. Firstly, the iMac couldn’t even play the HD video without some choppiness. Secondly, it doesn’t fit on the screen (on account of it being sub-1080.

More review type stuff along with photos of me unboxing and promptly groping the machine will be forth-coming.

Just a thought, but couldn’t Apple (Manzano) get 800-MI-APPLE in Mexico? Just thinking.
The apple store is down for updating or adding stuff or whatever…the import things is that I can not obsessively check the status of my order for a new computer.

Just taking another peak, laptop hasn’t shipped yet.

Another friend has made the jump to Macery. Excellent. Now he did this without my influence and mostly because his school, Full Sail, sets up their curriculum to support OSX distribution. Which is really really cool.

Getting to where coffee shops have more Apple’s than other machines on The Hill. Big change from a few years ago.

Also, I did mention my new lappy will be here in a few weeks?

Almost four years ago I got my G5 iMac, Old Blue. She’s taken good care of me, got me hooked, and acted as a gateway for others to drink the Mac-Cool Aid.

MarsEdit fills a hole in the blogging world by allowing desktop authoring and posting for blogs. In an attempt to improve my workflow and maybe write something of substance (as opposed to posts featuring videos of me dancing) I figured I would take this little Philly for a test driver.
