I don’t follow R&B, but I think this guy is some kind of singer. Any ways, have you seen this? I think he is like the leading avant garde performance art guy…ever.
Why is he yelling at himself.
Sure, I haven’t posted much lately…but I have been busy. So I was researching non-traditional education modalities and what not (as I like to do every Tuesday) and thought of Sesame Street. Designed to educate a group of kids that were consider outside of the reach of regular edumacation.
Well, then I was thinking how became more than that (a marketing brand, toy line, education line, movies, cartoons, etc etc) and decide to find some bench marks.
This has to be one, Steve Wonder played Sesame Street!
Ah yeah.

No details, but today has been totally awesome! I got to have an Apicoectomy!
In the aftermath I am all hopped up on whatever random pills seem to find their way into my mouth every few hours. Ok, not really, I am on a strict regime of penicillin, hurtgo’sawaymagicpills, and steroids! Totally Boss.
I am tripping. And by tripping, I mean that both literally and figurtively.
Yes, I fall…no sweat…more pain pills for that.
Also, I am having these intense and very entertaining conversations with the bust Chopin.

One key point we debated today was:
“When do songs become oldies? And at what point can we nostagalistically refer to the writers geniuses even if they weren’t very good?”
Chopin, having experienced his fair share of music history went on and on and on about this. Who pulled his string?
Anyways, we agreed that if 15 years pass, and the artist lays low…they get an honorary “Sucked…but come on, that was 15 years ago!” status.
I was thinking about these people who are the hook now, how great it would be to be absolved of sucking. I could make up a card and tell them how much I appreciate them for throwing their hat in the ring, no hard feelings, and how I thought that the record labels probally twisted their music around anyways.
So I set out to research my first person. I have images of using Stryper…but they made a come back. I crossed them off and put a reminder in 12 years to check back.
Next I did Kris Kros. Those lovable little scamps, with backwards pants and cartoon logos! They were so young, they were twisted by the insidious record label, their creative ported towards dastardly ends. I figured they could use some love.
So, I turn the interweb to find them.
OH SWEET LORD NO!

What happened!?!
This isn’t good, this isn’t good at all.
Having freaked, I haven’t heard their music in the last 12 years so I really can’t say.
But looking at the site Sony has for them they aren’t that high on the totem pole for webdevelopment.
Update:
Maybe I was too harsh?
You can listen to a track here. Not that bad, formulaic and a little by the numbers. But it does have some flow to it.
Still no card for them.
So this Gnarles Barkley Crazy song get’s some airplay, and yeah it is ok.
But this makes it timeless
Notice the complete look of normalcy on Cee-Lo’s face.
“Oh this Darth Vader Mask? Yeah, I wear this sometime…ok let’s sing!”
I found this video onDevin the Duke’s Myspace
Another interesting find is Ray Lamontge’s cover.

Which I borrowed for Joe, the Dutchman’s site.
But of course, there is some talent in gnarls Barkley, check out their wikipedia entry.
Learn about them, love them. Buy their CD, sure. Buy their other stuff too.
Hell, buy my stuff
There are several major learning styles, means that people best absorb from. Auditory, Visual, Kinetic.
Here is the one the works the best for, Puppetry.

Just in case you didn’t know how to drop the beat, I sure know…but sometimes I like to help people out. That’s just who I am, giving.
More PUPPETS
Firstly:
Look at that guy! Its Devin, one of the few people that oscillate in the 48th Shade of the Color Pink that I know.
Secondly:

Kate, I, and some of people are checking out a place in Capitol Hill that seems about 80% down…which is pretty good. Especially on my scale of downness, where George Washington was only 48% with “Wearing Wigs and Wooden Teeth”.
Church on the Hill (as it is called) is headed up by Jason Hudson and meets on Sundays. It is small and the people there seem to have a real Love of Christ, stick to scripture, and smell good.
Kate and I have been praying about finding a new place to hang out spiritual hats (mine is a beanie!) and this place seems pretty slick. More to come on this place, but I am feeling good about it (it was recommending by some people I really respect and appreciate).
Went to Tacoma on Saturday with Devin and Kate to catch a friend of mine’s band play.
Colin Simpson’s band Starboard Morning and they are good.
Ok, for those that don’t know, I am very supportive of people’s projects. I will try and attend about anything I can. But these guys were good. Read more about them here
They are a kind of Folk, Rock, Irish type thing and I would highly encourage purchasing their tunes.
